Tyler Perry does a great job at making you think. All of his films make you think because they are from our perspective. The issues are our issues, and the stories are our stories. Madea goes to Jail is no different – because we all know, she can’t stay out of jail anyway.
The jury is still out for me, as to whether it is a good thing, or a band thing, that blacks unite in large multitudes to go to his films, but neglect to do the same in educating themselves in the ways of politics.

Madea goes to Jail brings together all of the usual suspects: Cora, Mr. Brown, Bryan, Uncle Joe, and of course, Mabel Simmons, known to the general population as Madea. The film also stars Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher), Viola Davis (Doubt), and Keisha Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show) who plays a drug-addicted prostitute.

Viola Davis and Taraji Henson both looked absolutely glowing at the 81st Annual Academy Awards (Oscars). Both were nominated for best supporting-actress in a motion picture. Henson for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Davis for Doubt. Davis was only on screen briefly, but stole the entire movie with her eerie acting pressence as she put true emotion and feeling into her very small role. As a side note, Davis’ days of small roles are over.
